NDC, Obidients Push Back After Ganduje Dismisses Obi-Kwankwaso Ticket

The Nigeria Democratic Congress and the Obidient Movement have rejected Abdullahi Ganduje’s criticism of a possible Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso presidential ticket, saying both politicians still have strong records and support bases.

Their reaction followed Ganduje’s claim that an Obi-Kwankwaso ticket would be “dead on arrival” in Kano and would not have the political strength to win the 2027 presidential election.

Punch reported that NDC Deputy National Publicity Secretary Abdulmumin Abdulsalam said Obi and Kwankwaso had shown leadership as governors and could draw support in Kano and other parts of the country.

Daily Post also reported that the Obidient Movement dismissed Ganduje’s argument and said Obi’s record in Anambra, along with Kwankwaso’s support in Kano, remained politically relevant.
