Uba Sani Pays Compensation To Kaduna Communities Affected By Road Projects
Kaduna Governor Uba Sani has paid compensation to residents in three communities affected by road and erosion-control projects in the state.
Sani flagged off the latest cheque distribution at Basawa in Sabon Gari Local Government Area on Friday. He was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr AbdulKadir Muazu Meyere.
Daily Trust and Daily Post reported that the latest payment covers residents affected by construction along the Hunkuyi-Unguwan Rimi-Basawa road corridor, which links Kudan and Sabon Gari local government areas.
The reports said Sani had earlier distributed more than N2 billion to 1,000 people whose homes will be affected by a flood and gully erosion control project from Rigasa to Tudun Wada. He also distributed cheques to households affected by the 15km Ring Road from Danbushiya Junction to Danhonou 2 in Millennium City.
The governor said the road corridor is expected to improve movement of farm produce, trade and access to services across the affected communities.
