Tinubu Begins Three-Week Leave In Europe
President Bola Tinubu has begun a three-week leave in Europe, with London named as his first stop.
His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced the trip on Sunday, saying the president would depart Abuja for Europe as part of his annual leave.
Onanuga said Tinubu was expected to return to Nigeria after the working vacation to join campaign activities ahead of the January 2027 elections. Premium Times noted that the statement did not say whether Vice President Kashim Shettima would act as president while Tinubu is away.
The trip comes as political activity builds toward the 2027 election cycle. The reports did not announce any additional official engagements for the president during the leave.
