Timi Frank Seeks Transparency, Stronger Oversight Of 2026 Budget

Former APC deputy national publicity secretary Timi Frank has called for more transparency and stronger legislative oversight around the proposed 2026 federal budget.

Frank said the public debate around the budget had increased concern over how federal spending is planned and monitored. He urged the Federal Government to strengthen accountability systems and said public resources should be managed more carefully.

Punch reported that Frank called on the National Assembly to scrutinise government expenditure and provide effective oversight of the executive arm of government.

Daily Post reported his sharper criticism of the Tinubu administration, including claims that budget controversies and allegations of inflated allocations were damaging public confidence. Those claims were presented as Frank’s political allegation, not as an independent finding.

Frank referred to allegations involving the Service Wide Vote, allocations for churches and mosques, and the alleged Foreign Intervention Promotion Council entry.

Frank said oversight bodies should act independently so Nigerians can see how budget decisions are made and how public money is spent.
