Obi Says Shared Education And Poverty Agenda Led Him To Pick Kwankwaso
Peter Obi says he picked Rabiu Kwankwaso as his running mate because they share similar views on education, poverty reduction and economic development.
Obi, who is running as the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, gave the explanation in an interview published on Sunday.
He said Kwankwaso’s political philosophy centres on pulling people out of poverty and investing in education, an approach he said matches his own plans for the country.
Obi also dismissed suggestions of a rift between them, saying people who are working together should not be assumed to be quarrelling.
Daily Post also reported Obi as saying both men have similar ideas on reviving the economy and improving citizens’ lives ahead of the January 2027 election.
