The Independent National Electoral Commission has listed Musa Angbazo as the Social Democratic Party candidate for the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship election, despite a dispute from the camp of former Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu.

Daily Trust and Premium Times reported that INEC published a list of 15 governorship candidates on Saturday. Adamu’s campaign organisation rejected the listing and said the retired police chief is the authentic SDP candidate.

Premium Times reported that Ahmed Wadada was listed as the All Progressives Congress candidate, while Emmanuel Ombugadu appeared as the Peoples Democratic Party candidate. The same report said retired Major-General Nuhu Angbazo was listed under the African Democratic Congress.

The dispute now leaves the SDP facing a public candidate-listing disagreement months before the 2027 governorship race. The reports did not say INEC had changed the list after Adamu’s campaign objected.

Both outlets framed the disagreement around the same INEC publication and the same complaint from the former police chief’s camp.
