INEC Says 2.339 Million Voters Registered For 2026 Osun Governorship Poll
The Independent National Electoral Commission says 2,339,233 registered voters are eligible to take part in the 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
The figure was released in Osogbo on Thursday when INEC presented the electronic voter register to political parties ahead of the August 15 poll.
Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner Oluwatoyin Babalola said the register was being made available in line with the Electoral Act, which requires INEC to compile, maintain and release the voter register to political parties before an election.
Daily Post reported that Babalola described the presentation as part of the commission’s preparations for the election. Vanguard also reported the same presentation and the same voter figure from INEC’s Osun office.
The register gives parties a chance to review the list of eligible voters before campaigns and final election preparations move deeper into the season.
Osun is expected to conduct its off-cycle governorship poll on August 15, 2026.
