EFCC Releases Two Obi Supporters After Naira Abuse Questioning
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has released two supporters of Peter Obi after questioning them over alleged naira abuse.
Peter Akah, also known as Randy Peter, and Oruche Precious, popularly called Mama Pee, were released after spending several hours with the anti-graft agency.
Their lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, said the two honoured an EFCC invitation on Wednesday and were released about 11 hours later. He said the invitation was linked to allegations about the handling of naira notes.
Daily Post reported that Effiong explained the reason for the invitation in a Facebook post after public concern grew over the case. Vanguard also reported that the EFCC released the two Obi supporters after questioning.
The development drew attention because both individuals are known public supporters of Obi. The EFCC had not announced charges against them as of the accounts used for this article.
