Abia AAC Governorship Candidate Doris Ogala Hospitalised After Collapsing

Abia State AAC governorship candidate Doris Ogala has been hospitalised after collapsing during a political engagement in the state.

According to Premium Times, Ogala, who is the candidate of the Action Alliance Congress for the 2027 governorship election, fell ill and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Umuahia where she was stabilised by medical personnel.

She later posted a video from the hospital showing her in a wheelchair interacting with patients and staff. In the video, she led a prayer session with patients at the facility.

As of press time, Ogala had not confirmed whether she had been discharged from the hospital.

Ogala won the AAC governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 election in Abia State. She is set to contest against incumbent Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party, Eric Opah of the APC, and Kelechi Anosike of the PDP.

Her campaign has focused on improved education, healthcare, infrastructure, transparency, and good governance. She had previously visited victims of an alleged forced eviction in Umuahia.

The cause of her hospitalisation has not been officially disclosed.
