Police Rescue One After Gunmen Kidnap Three Federal University Of Lafia Students

Police in Nasarawa State say one student has been rescued after gunmen abducted three Federal University of Lafia students from an off-campus lodge.

The students were taken on Tuesday night from Living Seed Lodge, described by police as being in a bushy area on the outskirts of the students’ residential community in Lafia.

The Nasarawa State Police Command said the university’s Chief Security Officer reported the incident around 9:20 p.m. Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed then ordered tactical teams, patrol officers and other personnel to the area.

Police said a search-and-rescue operation in the surrounding forest led to the rescue of one of the abducted students. Efforts were still under way to free the remaining two victims and arrest the attackers.

The command urged residents to stay calm, remain vigilant and provide credible information that could help the operation.
