Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Arrest 11 Suspected Robbers In Nasarawa
Police in Nasarawa say they rescued a kidnapped woman and arrested 11 suspected armed robbers in separate operations across the state.
The rescued victim, Favour Innocent of Ajyga Village, was reportedly abducted from her home on August 3 and found the next morning in the Nunku Forest area of Akwanga Local Government Area. Police said local hunters and youths joined the operation.
The command said the woman was taken to the Primary Health Centre in Andaha, treated, discharged and reunited with her family. It said efforts were still under way to find the fleeing suspects linked to the abduction.
In the robbery arrests, police said officers at Mararaba Orange Market stopped a suspected stolen Toyota Corolla and later arrested 11 suspects. The command said exhibits recovered included a Toyota Corolla, knives, daggers, iron rods, handsets and other items.
Police spokesman SP Ramhan Nansel said the suspects would be charged after investigation. The command also urged residents to report suspicious movement to security agencies.
