Malami Inaugurates 600-Member ADC Campaign Council In Kebbi
Former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami has inaugurated a large African Democratic Congress campaign council in Kebbi State as political groups begin early mobilisation for the 2027 elections.
Punch reported the council as a 600-member body, while Daily Post said it had more than 600 members. Both reports said Malami inaugurated the council in Kebbi on Wednesday and asked members to build support for the ADC across local governments, wards and communities.
Malami said the structure was meant to support ADC candidates from the governorship race to the National Assembly and state legislative contests. Punch listed Aminu Bande for Kebbi Central, Garba Maidoki for Kebbi South and Chiroman Kabi, Alhaji Mera, for Kebbi North among candidates tied to the mobilisation.
He urged members to avoid tribalism, sectionalism and internal rivalry, warning that division could weaken the party’s chances. He also called for reconciliation within the party and asked supporters to run a peaceful, lawful and issue-based campaign.
The former minister said the appointments should be treated as service to the party rather than a reward, and asked council members to return to their communities as organisers for the ADC.
