A LASEPA official places a seal notice on the gate of a hospitality facility in Lagos

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has sealed two hospitality facilities over persistent noise pollution and other environmental violations.

Vanguard and Daily Post reported that the affected facilities are Westgate Arena Club at Apostolic Church Close, Olowora, in Kosofe, and Dave Premium and Suites at Alapere, Ketu.

The reports said the enforcement was carried out on the directive of the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.

Daily Post reported that the facilities were sealed after repeated environmental infractions, especially noise pollution, and alleged failure to comply with abatement notices.

Vanguard reported that LASEPA said both establishments had failed to meet regulatory requirements designed to protect residents and preserve a healthy environment.

The agency’s General Manager, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, said environmental compliance is a shared responsibility and warned that enforcement against violators would continue.

LASEPA also urged operators of hospitality businesses to comply with environmental laws in order to protect public health and reduce nuisance to residents.
