Kebbi High Court Judge Regains Freedom After Abduction
Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, the Kebbi State High Court judge abducted from his Bunza residence last week, has regained his freedom and returned home safely.
The release gives the Kebbi judiciary a new development after the earlier abduction, which NaijaTrend reported here. Vanguard and Daily Post both reported that a family member confirmed on Monday that the judge was back with his relatives after about a week in captivity.
The reports said the family thanked the Kebbi State Judiciary, security agencies and residents who supported them during the ordeal. Details of how the judge was freed had not been announced by the time the reports were filed.
Justice Bunza was kidnapped after armed men attacked his home along Zogirma Road in Bunza Local Government Area. The earlier police statement said tactical and intelligence teams had been deployed to search for him.
No official statement from the Kebbi State Judiciary or security agencies on the release had been reported at the time of filing.
