Headless Body Found On Farmland Inside UNIJOS
A headless body has been found on farmland within the University of Jos environment, causing panic among students, staff and residents of the area.
The victim was described in the reports as a middle-aged man. His identity had not been officially confirmed at the time the reports were filed.
Vanguard reported that a 300-level student, Pius Atok, said the body was discovered on a farm within the university community. Premium Times also reported the discovery and said the victim was believed not to be a student or staff member of the institution.
A senior university official cited in both reports said preliminary information suggested the man was a farmer who regularly cultivated crops on the land. The official said relatives had been contacted and arrangements were being made to evacuate the body.
The university was expected to communicate through its information directorate. Efforts by the reports to reach the Plateau State Police Command spokesperson, Alfred Alabo, were unsuccessful before publication.
The incident adds to security concerns in Plateau State, where communities and institutions have faced repeated attacks and threats in recent weeks.
