PFIPC Head Explains How Alleged Fake Agency Entered 2026 Budget
Prince Adeyemi Matthew Adeniyi, the self-styled head of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, has explained how the agency was captured in the 2026 budget.
Vanguard and Punch reported that Adeniyi gave the explanation after questions intensified over the alleged fake agency and its budget entry. Punch described the agency as “fake” in its report, while Vanguard identified it as the alleged PFIPC.
Adeniyi said the agency’s appearance in the budget was linked to contacts and submissions made during the budget process. His account raises fresh questions about how unverified or disputed agencies can move through official budget channels.
The controversy has kept attention on the screening of federal budget proposals, especially where new bodies or unfamiliar offices are listed for funding. The reports did not present Adeniyi’s explanation as a final legal clearance.
The matter is sensitive because it touches both public finance and the integrity of the national budget process. Lawmakers and federal officials may still face pressure to explain who sponsored or validated the entry before it reached the approved documents.
The episode also underlines why budget lines tied to new institutions need clearer public documentation, including the legal basis for the body, the sponsoring ministry or agency and the officials responsible for defending the proposal.
