The African Democratic Congress has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to act against Nafiu Bala Gombe over his claim that his faction had access to the party’s nomination portal.

The dispute followed Bala’s claim that candidates had been uploaded for the 2027 general election. INEC denied issuing him an access code and said he was not recognised as the ADC national chairman.

NaijaTrend earlier reported the ADC’s complaint over the rival portal claim here.

Daily Trust reported that INEC’s political parties portal listed David Mark as ADC national chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as national secretary. Vanguard, Daily Post and Punch reported that the ADC asked INEC to investigate and prosecute Bala over alleged forgery and unauthorised use of documents.

The party’s national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the claim created the false impression that Bala’s faction had completed candidate uploads on the INEC portal. The reports said attempts to get Bala’s response were unsuccessful before publication.

The fresh demand keeps the ADC crisis before INEC as factions continue to dispute control of the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
