Ndume Urges Tinubu To Speak Directly To Nigerians
Senator Ali Ndume has urged President Bola Tinubu to address Nigerians directly on the country’s major problems instead of leaving communication mainly to aides and spokespersons.
Ndume spoke after a closed-door meeting with the President, saying citizens deserve to hear from their leader on insecurity, the economy and other national concerns. He said he had advised Tinubu to speak directly to Nigerians and that the President promised to look into it.
The Borno South senator also said the renewed military pressure on criminal groups should be sustained. He argued that bandits and other armed groups were under pressure in parts of the North West, North East and elsewhere.
Vanguard reported that Ndume wanted Tinubu to speak to Nigerians personally rather than through aides. THISDAY also reported the same appeal and said Ndume praised recent security moves while asking for direct presidential communication.
The comments come as the administration faces continued public concern over killings, kidnappings and economic pressure across the country.
