Osun APC Praises Police After Arrests Over Alleged Plot Against Campaign DG
The Osun State APC has commended the state police command after three suspects were paraded over an alleged plot to assassinate the Director-General of its Governorship Campaign Council, Wole Oke.
Daily Post and Punch reported that the police linked the alleged attempt to Ipetu Ijesa on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
The suspects were named as Olalekan Oriyomi, Ayotunde Ikupolati and Femi Fakinleye. Police also said an English Beretta pistol loaded with four rounds of live ammunition was recovered from one suspect.
In a statement by its Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Olabisi, the APC praised the police for acting against criminal elements and asked for a thorough investigation.
The party said the case should be pursued to identify anyone directly or indirectly connected with the alleged plot.
The party framed the incident as a warning sign ahead of the next governorship contest, while the police account remains an allegation pending investigation and prosecution.
