UI Law Student, Seven Others Abducted After Scripture Union Conference

The Students’ Union Government of the University of Ibadan has confirmed that a 300-level female law student, identified as Tomisin, was abducted while returning from a Scripture Union Student Fellowship conference.

PM News reported that Tomisin was travelling with the National General Director of the Scripture Union Student Fellowship and other participants after the group attended a national conference at the Camp of Faith in Okigwe, Imo State.

New Telegraph also reported the union’s confirmation, saying the UI SUG urged students to remain calm and clarified that Tomisin was the only University of Ibadan student among those unaccounted for.

According to the reports, the student’s absence became a concern after she failed to sit for faculty examinations scheduled earlier in the week. The union said it had contacted relevant authorities and was working with the university management and the student’s family.
