Mangu Group Says Plateau Attacks Death Toll Has Risen To 28

A Plateau community group says the death toll from attacks on Bin Mper and Murish communities in Mangu Local Government Area has risen to 28, and it is asking authorities to sustain military action around vulnerable communities.

The Mwaghavul Development Association gave the figure after a meeting of its Central Working Committee. It said the attacks also destroyed homes, farmlands and property worth millions of naira.

The latest casualty claim follows earlier security moves in Mangu, where the military relocated the tactical headquarters of Operation Enduring Peace from Jos to the local government area after killings in the area. NaijaTrend reported that deployment here.

Vanguard reported the MDA statement, including its call for sustained operations to secure communities and dismantle bandit hideouts. Premium Times earlier reported the military relocation and quoted security officials on the need to improve response around Mangu and neighbouring communities.

The association also commended security agencies for rapid intervention and praised Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang for visiting Bin Mper, deploying security personnel and promising relief support and access-road work.
