Troops Rescue 14 Kidnap Victims After Zamfara Abduction Attempt
Troops of Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued 14 kidnap victims after an attempted abduction around Magazu village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation was reported to have taken place on Tuesday afternoon after intelligence about the movement of armed attackers in the area. The troops moved in and engaged the attackers, forcing them to flee.
The rescued victims included men, women and children who were taken to a military facility for checks before being reunited with their families.
The report said the operation also prevented another abduction in the area. Zamfara has faced repeated attacks on rural communities and roads, with security forces carrying out separate rescue and patrol operations across the state in recent weeks.
