Troops in Borno have rescued an 11-year-old girl during a patrol in Gwoza Local Government Area, according to reports on a military operation in the state.

The girl was identified as Aisha Mustafa. The reports said she was found around 1:41am on September 4 during a routine patrol around the Arra area after allegedly being taken from her community for a spying mission.

The account said troops of the 82 Division Task Force Battalion carried out the rescue. The same military update also reported separate activity elsewhere in Borno, including the surrender of two teenagers in Monguno.

Because the case involves a child, this report keeps the focus on the rescue and the official operational details already made public.
