Sunday Igboho Issues Two-Hour Ultimatum To Fulani Leaders Over Kidnapped Pregnant Woman
Yoruba Nation activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has issued a two-hour ultimatum to Fulani leaders in Igboho, Oyo State, to secure the release of a pregnant woman and her sibling allegedly abducted by suspected Fulani gunmen.
Vanguard reported that the gunmen initially demanded a ransom of ₦300 million before reducing it to ₦150 million. Igboho insisted that the victims’ family would not pay and that Fulani leaders in the town should take responsibility for securing their freedom.
Daily Post also reported that Igboho accused the kidnappers of killing the person who delivered the ransom and expressed outrage that such criminal activities were taking place in his ancestral home.
Addressing Fulani leaders in Yoruba, Igboho said: “You can’t be kidnapping in my father’s land and expect me to keep quiet. I’m an original indigene of Igboho land.” He gave the leaders two hours to release the woman, her children, and her sibling, warning that failure to do so would result in a confrontation.
The incident adds to growing concerns about kidnapping and insecurity in Oyo State communities, where residents have repeatedly reported abductions by suspected gunmen operating in the area.
