The House of Representatives committee looking into the disputed PFIPC has ordered the Inspector-General of Police to produce Adeniyi Adeyemi before lawmakers on Wednesday, July 29.

The order came during another hearing on the controversy over the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council. NaijaTrend earlier reported the police charge against Adeyemi here.

Channels TV reported that the committee asked the IGP, Olatunji Disu, to produce Adeyemi by noon as the inquiry continues. Daily Post also reported the order, saying lawmakers want Adeyemi present because of the seriousness of the allegations and the institutions named in the matter.

Daily Trust reported that the committee gave the directive after a police representative confirmed parts of an investigation into petitions alleging that Adeyemi falsely presented himself as director-general of both the Presidential Economic Advisory Council and the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council.

The hearing also brought fresh testimony from the Accountant-General of the Federation, Shamseldeen Ogunjimi. Channels TV reported that Ogunjimi said his office declined a request by the disputed council to open a Treasury Single Account because due diligence had not been completed.

Daily Trust said the committee is examining how the PFIPC allegedly secured office accommodation at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja and appeared in the 2026 budget with a N1.32 billion allocation.

The allegations around Adeyemi and the disputed council remain before investigators and the courts. The committee has not issued a final report.
