Adeyemi Fights Back As Police File Eight-Count Charge Over Alleged Fake Council

The controversy over the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council has moved into a legal phase, with police filing an eight-count charge against Adeniyi Adeyemi.

The case is a new development in the PFIPC row earlier covered by NaijaTrend here, after the Presidency said Femi Gbajabiamila had been cleared over the alleged forged appointment letter.

Vanguard reported that Adeyemi appeared on Channels Television and insisted he was not a criminal, claiming he was given an appointment letter. The paper also reported that the disputed council was allocated N1.302bn in the 2026 federal budget.

Premium Times reported that the government listed Gbajabiamila and 10 others as witnesses, and said the charges relate to allegations surrounding the appointment letters and the purported agency.

Because the allegations are before the court, Adeyemi’s denials and the government’s charges remain matters for the legal process.
