Police Rescue Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons in Oyo Forest Operation
Oyo State police say they have rescued Bosede Adelabu, the elder sister of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons after their abduction along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Commissioner of Police Johnson Adenola said the victims were freed during a forest operation on Saturday evening after officers tracked the kidnappers to a hideout in the state.
Police Say Two Suspects Were Neutralised
According to the command, the rescue followed sustained pressure on the gang after the June 3 abduction. Adenola said two suspects were killed in the exchange, while other members of the group escaped with gunshot injuries.
The police also said officers recovered cash believed to be ransom proceeds, along with weapons used by the gang.
Family Regains Freedom After Days in Captivity
The victims were kidnapped while travelling through Oyo, a case that drew public attention because of the family’s link to the Adelabu household. Governor Seyi Makinde had earlier visited the family and said security agencies were under pressure to secure their release.
Police said search operations are continuing in the area to arrest the fleeing suspects and dismantle the rest of the gang.
