Police arrest woman over husband’s death in Kano

Police have arrested Bilkisu Sani after the death of her husband, Hafizu Gausu, in Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident happened on Friday evening in the Katsalle area of Rogo town. Residents who went to the house after an alarm was raised found Gausu lying in blood with a head injury, according to accounts in Daily Post and Daily Trust.
The reports said police were called to the scene and later took the body away for investigation. Sani was arrested as the main suspect, while investigators continue to examine what happened.
Residents linked the dispute to Gausu’s plan to marry a second wife. Daily Trust reported that the couple had been married for nearly seven years and had two children.
Gausu was buried on Saturday morning in Rogo according to Islamic rites. The allegation against Sani has not been tested in court.
