Police Arrest Suspect After Osun NURTW Clash
Police in Osun State have arrested a suspect after the violent clash between rival NURTW factions in Osogbo.
The arrest follows the disturbance NaijaTrend earlier reported here, where police said they had restored calm after the factions clashed.
Vanguard named the suspect as 40-year-old Adedeji Saheed and reported that he was arrested around Oke-Ijetu after police received information that a group was preparing to cause more violence.
Punch reported that three security operatives suffered gunshot injuries during the clash and that the Osun Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, announced the arrest while briefing journalists.
The police said other suspects were still being sought. The latest reports did not include a court arraignment date for the arrested suspect.
