NDC Says Nigerians Can Donate N1,000 Or N2,000 To Fund 2027 Campaign

The Nigeria Democratic Congress says it wants ordinary Nigerians to help fund its 2027 campaign through small donations such as N1,000 or N2,000.

Former Bayelsa governor and NDC national leader, Seriake Dickson, outlined the plan during an Arise Television interview, saying the party wants to reduce dependence on wealthy political financiers.

Dickson said the party does not receive money from the government treasury and would rather build a contribution system that allows supporters to take part in funding its activities.

The proposal comes as the NDC continues to position itself ahead of the next general election, after recent disputes over its logo and campaign materials.

The party has not yet announced the full details of how the donation platform will work or what safeguards will be used to track contributions.
