Faruk Mustapha Named As APC Running Mate In Bauchi Governorship Race
The All Progressives Congress in Bauchi State has picked Faruk Mustapha as running mate to its 2027 governorship candidate, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar.
Mustapha is a former Commissioner for Special Duties and Rural Development in Bauchi State. Daily Trust reported that the party had submitted his name and particulars to INEC as the deputy governorship candidate.
Mustapha confirmed the nomination and said he had accepted it as a call to serve the people of the state.
He previously served as director-general of Governor Bala Mohammed’s 2023 re-election campaign and later left the Allied Peoples Movement after losing out in its governorship ticket race.
APC officials in the state said the choice of Mustapha ended weeks of speculation over who would run with Abubakar ahead of the election.
