Davido Wins Best International Act at 2026 Liberian Entertainment Awards
Davido is keeping his 2026 momentum alive. The Nigerian Afrobeats heavyweight has added another international award to his collection, picking up the Best International Act prize at the 2026 Liberian Entertainment Awards (LEA).
The award was announced on Monday, and OBO — as his fans call him — beat out a seriously competitive field to claim it. Among those he edged out were American rapper Gunna, fellow Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema, and South African singer Tyla. Winning in that company is no small thing, and the result reflects where Davido currently stands in the global music conversation.
A 2026 That Keeps Delivering
This latest recognition builds on what has already been an impressive year. Earlier this month, Davido performed at Coachella — one of the world’s most prestigious music festivals — further cementing Afrobeats’ place on the global stage. His performance generated massive buzz on social media, with clips racking up millions of views.
Away from the stage, Davido has a joint album in the works with American R&B star Chris Brown. The collaboration has been generating anticipation for months, and if it lands the way fans are expecting, it could be one of the biggest Afrobeats crossover releases of the year.
Winning at the Liberian Entertainment Awards also carries symbolic weight. The LEA celebrates African entertainment broadly, and being honoured there speaks to Davido’s reach across the continent — not just in Nigeria, but across West Africa and beyond.
Nigerian music continues to travel, and Davido remains one of its most consistent ambassadors. From Coachella to Monrovia, 2026 is shaping up to be one of his strongest years on record.
