Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced that his sixth studio album, Oriadé, will be released on 31 July.

Premium Times reported that the project comes as the singer marks 15 years in the music industry.

Channels TV also reported that Davido announced the album through a Billboard interview and a teaser shared on his social media pages.

The album title combines the Yoruba words ori, meaning head or destiny, and adé, meaning crown. Both reports said the title points to themes of destiny, honour and fulfilment.

According to Premium Times, Davido said the project reflects his personal journey and his aim to push African music further on the global stage.

Channels TV reported that the teaser shows the singer in a wine-and-black traditional outfit, with royal imagery including a throne and a crown.

The album will contain 13 songs, making it the shortest studio project of Davido’s career. It follows Omo Baba Olowo, A Good Time, A Better Time, Timeless and 5ive.

The rollout has begun with the lead single, I Know Who I Be, which was released on Friday.
