Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has alleged that soldiers were trying to stop him from entering Osun State as voters went to the polls.

The claim came early on Saturday, ahead of voting in the governorship election. Davido did not provide evidence in the posts cited by the reports, and the reports did not include a fresh public response from the military.

Punch reported that Davido made the allegation on his verified X account, saying he had been informed that soldiers were trying to prevent his entry into the state. Vanguard reported the same claim and said he vowed to enter Osun despite the alleged move.

Davido is Governor Ademola Adeleke’s nephew and has been active in his uncle’s re-election campaign under the Accord Party. His comments add another flashpoint to an election already shaped by heavy security deployment and close attention from party leaders.

The allegation should be treated as Davido’s claim unless authorities issue further details. The reports did not confirm that soldiers actually blocked him, only that he publicly alleged an attempt to do so.
