President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign is planned to begin in Kaduna on October 24, according to APC presidential campaign council director-general Abdulaziz Yari.

Yari said the council’s inaugural meeting would take place at the State House banquet hall on October 14, before the campaign launch.

He outlined the timetable to State House correspondents on Friday after briefing Tinubu on campaign preparations, Punch reported. Yari said the President had approved the proposed programme of state visits.

“By God’s grace, on the 24th of October, we’re going to do our flag-off campaign in Kaduna,” he said.

Yari said Port Harcourt in Rivers State would be the next stop after Kaduna, followed by Maiduguri in Borno State. He said the full timetable would be released after the council’s inauguration.

The former Zamfara governor argued that the APC had support across both northern and southern states. He also defended the administration’s economic record; those were his campaign assessments, not independently established findings.

Tinubu named Yari to lead the council in August, with Imo Governor Hope Uzodimma as secretary. NaijaTrend reported the appointments here.

The President chairs the council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC national chairman Nentawe Yilwatda are vice chairmen.
