Atiku Blasts Remi Tinubu Over Political Celebrations Amid Oyo Abductions
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticised First Lady Oluremi Tinubu over what he described as insensitivity to families whose children and teachers remain in captivity after the Oyo school abductions.
In a statement issued through his aide, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said public political celebrations were out of place while victims were still missing.
“A True Mother Does Not Celebrate”
Naija News quoted Atiku as saying a true mother would keep the plight of the abducted children at the centre of national attention until they are reunited with their families.
His criticism followed the First Lady’s inauguration of the Tinubu Torchbearers support group and the donation of vehicles to APC women leaders in five opposition-controlled states.
Statement Focuses on Oyo Victims
Atiku said Nigerians were still waiting for the safe return of schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oyo State on May 15, and argued that the federal government appeared more focused on political activity than the anguish of affected families.
The remarks added a sharper political edge to the national response already trailing the abduction case.
