Court Orders INEC To Use NDC Modified Logo

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to upload and use the Nigeria Democratic Congress modified digital logo.

Former Bayelsa governor and NDC leader Seriake Dickson said the judgment was delivered by Justice J. O. Abdulmalik after the party went to court over INEC’s handling of the logo submitted after its first National Executive Council meeting.

Dickson said INEC initially uploaded the modified logo but later removed it and returned to the logo used when the association was first registered. He said the court directed the commission to use the logo contained in the party’s constitution.

The former governor asked NDC candidates and members to start using the approved logo on campaign materials, including banners and posters. He said both versions retained the two-finger victory sign, but the modified version was the party’s authentic logo.

The order deals specifically with the logo the electoral commission must recognise for NDC party activity and campaign materials.
