FG Sends N25m Anti-Snake Venom To Benue
The Federal Government has donated 100 vials of Panaf Premium anti-snake venom to Benue State, a consignment valued at about N25 million.
The donation is meant to support treatment for snakebite victims across the state at a time when the cost and availability of anti-snake venom remain a burden for affected families.
Punch reported that the consignment was presented on Friday at the headquarters of the Benue State Ministry of Health and Human Services in Makurdi. The report linked the intervention to recent concerns over snakebite cases, including incidents involving internally displaced persons.
Daily Trust also reported that the vials came from the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and were received by the Benue State Government for use in treating snakebite cases.
Snakebite treatment can be expensive for rural households and displaced families, especially where victims must travel long distances to reach facilities with the right anti-venom in stock.
