Windstorm Destroys Over 200 Houses And Shops In Katsina Community
A windstorm and heavy rain have destroyed more than 200 houses, shops and other property in Dangamau community, Kusada Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The damage displaced many residents and disrupted business activity in the community, leaving affected families in need of shelter, food and other basic support.
Governor Dikko Radda sympathised with the victims and directed government agencies to assess the damage so relief can be sent to households hit by the storm.
The governor, through his Chief Press Secretary Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, said the state would provide food, temporary shelter and other essential items to residents who lost homes or property.
Residents were also asked to cooperate with emergency response officials while the government works to restore normal activity in the area.
The incident adds to recent weather-related damage in northern communities, where heavy rains and strong winds have repeatedly destroyed homes, farms and small businesses.
