The Nigeria Police Force has cleared Katsina Governor Dikko Radda’s aide-de-camp and chief security officer after their invitation to Force Headquarters in Abuja drew attention amid the state APC crisis.

The officers were invited earlier in connection with questions that arose as rival groups in the Katsina chapter of the All Progressives Congress traded allegations. Police later said the two officers were not detained and had returned to duty.

Daily Post reported that the invitation came as tensions deepened between groups backing Radda and those loyal to Ibrahim Kabir Masari, the presidential adviser on political matters. The report said sources had linked the questioning to the political crisis, while the police had not initially given a public explanation.

Vanguard reported the police clarification, saying the Force described claims of detention as false and said the officers had been released to continue their official duties.

The clarification leaves the dispute within the Katsina APC unresolved, but it removes the immediate uncertainty around the governor’s two security aides.
