Tributes As Lt. Felix Isaac Is Laid To Rest After Oyo Rescue Operation
Lieutenant Felix Ademe Isaac, the 28-year-old army officer killed during the operation to rescue abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State, has been laid to rest with military honours.
Isaac died during the operation linked to the rescue of victims abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area. The abducted pupils and teachers regained freedom on July 10 after weeks in captivity.
Daily Trust reported that Isaac was buried at the 23rd Armoured Brigade Cemetery in Yola, Adamawa State, on July 10. The report said he was born on August 25, 1997.
Vanguard earlier reported that the military confirmed the death of an army lieutenant during the rescue operation. The army said the operation was planned to avoid harm to the abducted children and teachers, but that security forces suffered casualties.
Governor Seyi Makinde thanked the security agencies after the victims were freed and said the government’s priority was to reunite them with their families and support their recovery.
