Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne has joined Inter Milan Women after leaving Everton at the end of her contract.

Inter confirmed the signing on Saturday, with the Nigerian international agreeing a two-year deal that runs until June 2028.

Payne, 31, moved to Everton from Sevilla in 2024 and made 50 appearances for the English Women’s Super League club before switching to Italy.

She said the move gives her a chance to test herself in another competitive European league and contribute to an Inter side targeting stronger domestic and continental runs.

“I’m really excited to be signing for Inter. There’s so much history at the club, and I’m really happy to be a part of it,” Payne told Inter’s official website, according to Premium Times.

Daily Post also reported that Payne signed until 2028 and quoted her as saying she was eager to show her speed, dribbling and crossing in Italy.

Payne previously played for Ajax and Sevilla before joining Everton. Although she represented the United States at youth level, she switched allegiance to Nigeria in 2021.

She has since become part of the Super Falcons setup, featuring at the 2023 Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Olympic Games. She was also named in Justine Madugu’s squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
