ADC, NDC Submit Presidential Tickets As INEC Gives Access Codes To Nine Parties
The African Democratic Congress and the Nigeria Democratic Congress have confirmed steps on the Independent National Electoral Commission nomination portal ahead of the 2027 general election.
Vanguard reported that the ADC said it had uploaded the names and particulars of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, to the INEC nomination portal.
The outlet also reported that NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi said he had completed his INEC nomination form, using the process to call for greater transparency in the electoral system.
Punch separately reported that INEC said nine registered political parties had collected access codes to upload candidates’ particulars for the presidential and National Assembly elections. The parties listed by INEC included Accord, Action Alliance, ADC, APC, Labour Party, NDC, National Democratic Party, Peoples Redemption Party and the Social Democratic Party.
INEC National Commissioner for Voter Education and Publicity, Mohammed Haruna, said political parties participating in an election must approach the commission to collect the codes. He said anyone collecting the code on behalf of a party must present an authorisation letter from the party leadership.
The development follows NaijaTrend’s earlier report on the NDC appeal and Peter Obi’s upload on the INEC portal, which you can read here. NaijaTrend also reported Obi’s separate request for INEC to publish candidates’ certificates here.
The new update broadens the portal story beyond the NDC by adding ADC’s submission and INEC’s confirmation that nine parties have collected access codes for the 2027 nomination process.
The article separates the two source claims: Vanguard reported the ADC and NDC upload details, while Punch reported INEC’s wider access-code update for nine parties.
