Two Killed In Machete Attack At Lekki IMAX Cinema
Two people have died after a machete-wielding man attacked security guards at the IMAX cinema in Lekki, Lagos State.
The attack happened on Friday night after the man was reportedly stopped from entering the cinema. The incident caused panic among workers and visitors at the entertainment facility.
The Lagos State Police Command said one security guard was stabbed to death and another security operative was injured. The suspect was later mobbed and died during the incident, bringing the confirmed death toll to two.
Police spokesperson Adebisi Abimbola said officers were still investigating what led to the attack. The command also said security had been reinforced around the area after the incident.
The reports identified the location as the Lekki IMAX cinema and said the attacker had a machete and a knife. The accounts did not immediately give the names of the dead.
