Police say they have found a suspected indoor cannabis farm at a home in Apapa, Lagos, and arrested two men following an intelligence-led search on Monday.
Lagos State Police Command spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi announced the discovery on Tuesday, saying officers searched the property at about 8.15am after receiving information about it.
The two residents of the property remain in custody while investigators examine the operation, the command said.
Adebisi identified them as Thomas Razvickas, a 49-year-old Polish national, and James Chisome, a 36-year-old Nigerian. Police said they had given statements and were assisting investigators.
Officers found equipment for growing, harvesting and processing substances suspected to be cannabis, according to the command.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai later inspected the property and received a briefing on the investigation.
The command has not disclosed how many plants were found, the quantity of suspected cannabis recovered or who owns the facility. The investigation continues.
