Troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued three kidnapped victims during an operation in Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The Nigerian Army identified the victims as Aisha Aminu, 46; Sumayya Aminu, 27; and Nana Abbas, 15. Two of them were rescued at Makuku Village and the third at Dankolo Village on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
The 8 Division spokesperson, Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, disclosed this in a statement made available to correspondents on Sunday, saying the operation was concluded without any incident.
“The victims were subsequently handed over to the District Head of Dirindaji, Alhaji Usman Muhammad, through the Chairman of Sakaba Local Government Area,” the statement said.
Osoba said troops remain committed to the protection of lives and property and are focused on safeguarding residents and communities in the state.
The rescue comes amid persistent kidnapping concerns in parts of Nigeria’s North-West, where armed groups continue to threaten residents and disrupt community life.
