Troops rescue six abducted victims in Kaduna, Katsina operations
Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued six abducted victims during separate operations in Kaduna and Katsina states.
Daily Trust reported that the rescues took place on Thursday, September 17, after troops acted on intelligence and distress calls in the two states.
In Kaduna, troops in Sector 1 moved in after receiving information about a kidnapping incident in Igabi Local Government Area. The suspected terrorists fled when they sighted the troops, leaving behind three victims identified as Enock Hussaini, Abba Dauda and Kalif Haruna.
The report said the three victims had been abducted at Gidan Gulbi village on September 11. They were debriefed and reunited with their families.
In Katsina, troops in Sector 2 responded to a distress call along the Dandume-Damari axis in Dandume Local Government Area. They rescued Abubakar Abdulkadir, 25; Mansir Idris, 26; and Abubakar Aliyu, 21, after the attackers fled into nearby bushes.
The troops also recovered a black Golf vehicle belonging to the victims, who were later released to continue their journey.
