Troops Repel ISWAP Attack In Borno, Recover Camcorder
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have repelled an attempted ISWAP infiltration at Cross Kauwa in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
The military reports said troops recovered a Sony camcorder after the encounter. Preliminary checks on the recordings allegedly linked the failed operation to four senior ISWAP commanders and three foreign facilitators.
The foreign figures named in the reports include a Palestinian identified as Abu Ishaq, described as a trainer, and a Moroccan identified as Abu Thaiba, described as a doctor within the group. Another Arab operative was said to be unidentified.
The reports said troops also recovered ammunition, uniforms and other combat items during follow-up checks in the area.
Security officials said the discovery supports earlier intelligence that ISWAP still receives outside expertise. The claim remains based on military accounts from the operation.
