Troops Arrest Two Suspected Terrorist Logistics Suppliers In Yobe
Troops in Yobe have arrested two suspected suppliers accused of moving motorcycle spare parts and other items for Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in the Yunusari-Mobbar area.
The Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, said the operation took place on Tuesday after intelligence on supplies allegedly headed to terrorist elements.
According to details reported by Daily Post and Channels TV, troops from 159 Battalion under Sector 2, working with other security operatives, intercepted the consignment at Gumsa Bridge in Geidam Local Government Area.
The recovered items included motorcycle tyres, crankshafts, oil seals, traffic indicators, accelerator cables, chain covers and engine oil. The military said the parts were suspected to be meant for motorcycles used by insurgents in the area.
The acting military information officer for the task force, Captain Mohammed Goni, said the operation followed credible human intelligence. The suspects and recovered items were taken for further investigation.
The operation comes amid continued military pressure on logistics routes used by armed groups in the North East, where motorcycles and spare parts remain closely watched because they can support movement across rural terrain.
