Tinubu Orders Coordinated Rescue Operation After Niger Mass Abduction

President Bola Tinubu has ordered security and intelligence agencies to launch a coordinated operation to rescue victims abducted in Niger State.

The directive follows the Borgu mosque attacks, where worshippers were taken during Friday prayers in communities including Dekara, Kpenya and Gidan-Zana. NaijaTrend’s earlier report on the abduction is here.

Reports said Tinubu directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services and other security agencies to mobilise for the rescue effort. He also asked service chiefs to brief him regularly until the abducted residents are accounted for.

The President condemned the attack and said the Federal Government would support Niger State with relief, recovery and security reinforcement. He described the attackers as enemies of peace and said they would not go unpunished.

Channels Television reported that the directive came after killings and abductions in the state, while Daily Trust said residents described simultaneous attacks on mosques during Juma’at prayers.
